First Outdoor Company presents Blk Out Retreat + Boulderfest 2022, in partnership with Lookout Mountain Conservancy + Synergy Climbing. This retreat + festival is hosted by Black Girls Boulder.

 

The Blk Out Boulderfest + Retreat is an intimate and intentional space celebrating Black excellence in rock climbing. This 3-day, 2-night festival on the grounds of the Crash Pad in Chattanooga, Tennessee is designed to create community, educate new outdoor boulderers and recognize the accomplishments of Black athletes, entrepreneurs and creatives.

DISCOVERY PROJECT

A short film by filmmaker Trevor Riley documenting Caleb Robinson, Mountain Hardwear athlete, exploring Red Rocks Canyon for the first time.

BLACK ICE

A crew of aspiring ice climbers from the Memphis Rox gym travels to the frozen wilds of Montana, where mentors Manoah Ainuu, Conrad Anker and Fred Campbell share their love of winter adventure in the mountains.

J.E.D.I. TRAINING

This film follows Bree Jameson, an avid outdoorist, twin mom and a fierce advocate for social justice and gender equity, as she becomes the first Black woman in Texas history to develop a rock climbing route.

Our goal is to raise at least $3000 for WeClimb Chattanooga, a local non-profit organization that combines rock climbing & mentorship to empower underserved youth.
